Ever since the fall of man, people have been ashamed of God and his Son Jesus Christ. So therefore people have tried to undermine the miracles of the Bible by trying to explain everything scientifically so as to please the five senses. The five senses then become the highest form of knowledge and thereby usurp Biblical authority. Liberals like to cut and paste the Bible because they think that their fallible five senses are the highest expression of knowledge. Evolution, an old earth and the Big Bang is just a convenient way to deny Gods absolute authority and absolute power.

So when the Bible states that God created the world in 6 days I don't do what the Bible correctors say "God could not have said that surely he must have meant thousands or millions of years." If God could not say what he means in Genesis then how can we be sure that he meant what he said in Ac 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Maybe when he said to "believe" maybe he meant something different. Perhaps "Believe" was not correctly translated either.

Why do some so called Christians pick and choose from the Bible what they are going to believe and take as the revealed word of God and then compromise other things of the Bible and correcting the Bible telling God what he must have really meant. Those kind of people are called theological liberals. They pick and choose what they are going to believe based on what makes them fell comfortable so as to not sound fanatical to the world.

So we must ask ourselves a question do we believe the words of men who where not there in the beginning or do we believe in the true God of the Bible who was there in the beginning. Remember, science is always being updated and changed. The Bible never has to be updated and changed. A liberal is one who corrects the Bible based upon fallible opinions. Science changes all the time because scientists are wrong more times then they are right. A true Christian and scientist does not alter the evidence but alters the theories according to the evidence.

Altering the evidence to support a bankrupt assumption called evolution is just mans desperate attempt to deny the creator of the universe.

Mt 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Mt 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
Mt 26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
Mt 26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Mr 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Lu 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

Ro 1:16 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

A wise man once told me that actions speak louder then words. They sure do! Most people who compromise the creation account only do because they are embarrassed of God and his Son Jesus Christ so to look respectable to the world they conviently add and cut and paste the Bible to humanize the Bible. If you beat the Bible long enough you can get it to confess to anything.

Evolution does not require a creator. The Big Bang does not require a creator. An old earth does not require a creator. Death before sin does not require a creator. If anyone of those ideas required a creator they would be banned from the government schools. A young earth requires a creator. Death after sin requires a creator. Instantaneous creation or abrupt appearance requires a creator.

The reason why so many so called Christians want to believe in evolution, the Big Bang and an old earth is so they can blend in with the world so as not to sound fanatical and still be regarded as respectable by the world. They feel that if they have one foot in the world and one in religion then somehow that can still be regarded as spiritual and intellectual. Huge Ross is one of these people. He is a real heretic. He has cut and pasted the Bible to fit his humanistic ideas and fears and then plays on words by saying that he believes that God created all things.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

I have a question for these liberal Christians who think that this world was created by a Big Bang according to the evolutionists.

If the Big Bang was true then how do you fit a six day creation week, and a day of rest on the seventh day, and the creation of the Garden of Eden and the creation of Eve from Adams rib into the Big Bang. Remember the Big Bang started out as a little piece of matter and all things that we see today came from that Big Bang of matter over Billions of years. This means that everything that came form the Big Bang is related to each other. The grape fruit is related to the monkey and the monkey is related to man. Don't you think it is kind of hard to fit a six day creation work week and a day of rest on the seventh day, and the creation of the Garden of Eden and the creation of Eve from Adams rib into billions of years. That takes a lot of mental gymnastics to manipulate the Bible so that some weak kneed, liberal, coward can try to make himself look respectable to the world.

If I was a scientist and claimed to be a Christian and believed in the Big Bang, and an old universe then I could discuss the the origin of the universe with all my unsaved science friends without ever mentioning the Bible and God. I could sneak God around. Then if I talked with my unsaved science friends about the history of the world for example, geology I would never have to take a stand for a world wide flood because I could explain all the geological evidences through slow gradual erosion over millions of years. I could sneak God around some more.

The bottom line is the historical accuracy of the Bible is in question. Does God really mean what he says or do I have to have a guru explain to me what the Bible says. Can I take the Bible at face value and let the Bible say what it means or do we trust in mans opinions who changes all the time. I believe I can trust the Bible when the Bible says that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day just as much as when the Bible says that God created in six days. As far as me and my house we are going to trust what the Bible says and not what some cult leader guru (Huge Ross) says who try's to sneak Jesus around because of embarrassment.

Jos 24:15 ¶ And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

One thing that I have noticed about alot of these so called Christians who compromise and believe in the Big Bang and an old universe is that so many of them do very little soul winning if any at all. They are too embarrased of God so they have to sneak him around to look respectable to the world. The other thing that I noticed about these compromisers is that many of them are ecuminical, they are trying to get in bed with the Catholic Church which believes in theistic evolution. They believe in the Big Bang and an old universe.

If you believe in the Big bang it is a fact that you believe in evolution. The Big Bang teaches that one day long ago far away there was a little dot about the size of a period on a printed text page. This little dot began to spin very fast. To make a long story short all the matter in the universe was in that little dot then it blew up and began to expand. All the matter in the universe that we see today came from that little dot: bananas ,tomatos, fruits, fish planets, gallaxies, people, etc. Evolution teaches that everything is related somehow. The tomato is your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grampa.

Ex 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Ex 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Ex 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.

If each one of those days were a thousand years the Israelites would never of rested. But if any Israelites were born on the seventh day I guess they would have been in luck because they could rest the next thousand years.

I am not at liberty to say what God must have meant to say. If God says that he created the heavens and the Earth in 6 days that means he did not do it in thousands of years and millions of years he did it in six days. If God said it, that settles it, and I believe it. The Bible says He created in 6 days and rested on the seventh. For those of you who have no common sense there is a big difference between saying days and thousands of years.

FACT: Anytime a word is first used it has to have a literal diffenition before it can have a symbolic meaning. This is a law, called the Law of First Mention.

2 Peter 3:8 ¶ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

It is very dangerous to make an entire doctrine out of one verse.

Read it more carefully the first part cancels out the second part and the second part of the verse cancels out the first part meaning that God is not in time as you and I are. He is in eternity where there is no time. You and I are in time. Read it more carefully again, it says "that one day with the Lord" This verse is about prophecy. Right now we are not with the Lord in heaven but when we are in heaven time will cease to exist and it will seem as though a day will be like a thousand years. You have to read the whole chapter to keep it in its proper context. 2 Peter chapter 3 is about Bible prophecy and the New Heavens and the New Earth it has nothing to do with the Genesis account of creation. Other wise you can make it say anything you want it to say just by reading one verse to make it say what you want it to say, and that is wrong.

Mark and Beth,

That is only one posible interpretation, if you will look at the original Greek. There are several interpertations which, depending on how a translator wishes to use a word or word group, can be made...

Ok then maybe the salvation message wasn't correctly translated either and Maybe we are worshipping the wrong God. Maybe the salvation message has other interpretations if we are going to be consistent with the above statement

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as(1) a thousand years, and a thousand years as(1) one day.

The original greek word (1) for as is Hos or hoce, which also translates as "Like", "even as", etc...

He has missed the whole point. First of all 2 Peter 3:8 kept it in its proper context the entire chapter has nothing to do with the Genesis account it has to do with prophecy and the New Heaven and New Earth. Let this be a lesson to all read 2 Peter 3:8 it is a fact that if you take one verse out of scripture you can make the Bible say what ever you want it to say.

He has never seen the original greek just like all languages they change down trough the centuries. Today you can hardly read the english language that was written 500 years ago.

So the verse could also have been correctly translated: He has no confidence that God preserved his word. Notice what he said "it could have been correctly translated"! So how does he know when he has the truth if he thinks he is smarter then God?

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.

This can also be taken (due to the translators)
(Editors note: He obviously knows nothing about the translators) that if you consider a thousand years is the same as one day to the Lord and vice versa... it does convey the concept of our Lord having a different perception of time... which in truth our Lord being omniscent, time is immaterial.... however it remains that my original premise is a possiblilty since the story of creation was given to Moses and Moses put it down on paper (so to speak)... Was God's description of the creation process a 24hour day or was it something else, just one of those questions I'll have when I get there...

He obviously does not believe in the inspired preserved word of God and does not believe in verbal inspiration.

I take the scriptures literally as well,
(Editors note:That is not true) only I generally check/investigate the translation from the Greek or Hebrew text that was available (there are no originals) simply because the translator(s) may have changed or altered the meaning of a verse from the original Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic, they had no ill intent to do so... but it happens... Psalm 8:5 is an example of this, the word elohim is translated as angels when the correct translation could have been God and if you look at the way the original word 'elohim' was translated (it is hebrew) thru-out the old testament it was translated as God 2,590 times, it was translated as "angels" once, in Psalm8:5, I suspect the person(s) doing the translation may have been fearfull of writing down what might have been considered heresy at the time the translation was made and being burned or hanged, this is something you should consider when studying scripture...

By the way the word for "day" used at the end of the scriptures Ge 1:5, Ge 1:8, Ge 1:13, etc... (I'm sure you know the verses, each end with the word day, for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd,etc days of creation) The word in the original Hebrew is yome or more properly Yowm, the possible translations for this word are below, please note only 1 possiblity is a 24 hour day, it includes the Jewish definition of a day as well.

In any case, please consider at least looking at the original Greek and Hebrew from which the KJ, NIV, etc were derived... I am not saying your are wrong, but I'm not necessarily agreeing with you either... There is no definitive answer to this question, we'll just have to wait and ask when we see our Father....

Be Blessed
Sam

This is only the typical liberal bias that came out of the later part of the 19th century
Re 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Re 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

De 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

De 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Prv 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Ps 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Ok, everybody take a big, big breath. I believe that we have the completed, preserved, inerrant, infallible, inspired, word of God. Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

De 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Pr 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Lu 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
(KJV)

Sence he wants to bring the modern versions into this discussion which I try to stay away from because it causes to much confusion I guess I will write someting on it.

This guy does not know what he is talking about. Anyone who has studied the subjects of Bible versions knows that there are two lines of manuscripts with which we get either the King James Bible and the NIV and other related modern versions.

To make a long story short all the modern versions came from the Sinaticus and the Vatacanus. They are both Gnostic texts which came out of Alexandria Egypt. Gnosticism is where the false teachings of the DaVinci Code came from.

We got the KJV from the Received Text, and the Masoretic text. The modern versions ultimately came from gnosticism, out of Alexandria Egypt. This is why I stay with the King James.

I will be adding more to this when I have time. So in the mean time you can get some very good reading material from the experts on this subject from Biblical scientists like Answers In Genesis Institue For Creation Research and Creation Ministries Institute
